Wish You Were Here is inspired by the Movies Before Sunset and Breathless. Both of these feature two people taking a walk through Paris. I especially took inspiration from the hand held footage in Before Sunset and the gestures from Breathless.
This project began with the intention of the video portraying a person revisiting the same place a couple used to go to after the relationship has ended but throughout the whole process it ended up being more about just wanting someone there with you at the end of the day.
Wish You Were Here is about revisiting places you used to go to with another person you loved and wishing they were there with you now. It is about the longing and loneliness one feels after that person has left.
